Riso Printed Notecards: Forest Bathing

$14.00 $18.00

The idea of Forest Bathing emerged in Japan in the 1980s as a practice called shinrin-yoku for "taking in the forest atmosphere" by walking in the natural environment and consciously using your senses to connect with what's around you. 🌳

Trees communicate their needs and send each other nutrients through the fungi network buried in the soil. They also send signals through the air, using pheromones and scents. It's thought that Mother trees recognize their own and send more nutrients to them through the network and often make root room for their kin. We love that.

These charming folded notecards are printed in small batches by London-based Scout Editions on the risograph. The Risograph originated from Japan and was manufactured by the Riso Kagaku Corporation in 1980. The Risograph uses plant-based ink and the machines are incredibly energy efficient with a minimum amount of waste. Riso means ideal in Japanese.

Please note that prints will vary slightly, making each a charming limited edition of one.

We are so pleased to be the only U.S. stockist of Scout Editions’ coveted designs.
